Element 115 Studios is an independent music label born out of Chicago, IL. Founded by Christopher Steele and Chelsea Boddie, the label was built on a simple belief: great music doesn’t need a major label behind it. It just needs the right people, the right vision, and the drive to see it through.

The label expanded when Chicago native Tyrone Wheeler — known to the world as Ed.D.Kane — joined the team as President and Recording Artist. A West Side product who has been freestyling since 1984, Ed.D.Kane brought decades of raw, lived-in lyricism to the label. His presence didn’t just add an artist to the roster. It shaped the identity of the whole operation.

Together, the team at Element 115 Studios creates and produces music across a wide range of genres — from Old School Freestyle and Underground Hip Hop to R&B, LoFi, Instrumental, Abstract, and Alternative. The sound changes. The standard doesn’t.
